Together, Eugene, Ronee , Adam and Ilana Weissman have given the Weissman
Teen Tours its unique "family oriented" style and unusual togetherness
that all its members share. They personally supervise and travel with their
groups throughout the summer. Their staff of young, dedicated, college graduates,
all trained in CPR and first aid, provide the "Weissman Family"
with the highest quality of excellence, leadership and warmth.
Having the owners personally lead the tours, fosters spontaneity and affords the group special opportunities that they would never have otherwise experienced. If a meaningful adventure should suddenly present itself, the Weissmans will "jump" at the chance to participate. Groups have, for example, joined the North American Indian Council meetings in Montana, witnessing the tribal dances as well as making new friends. In addition, the European group has dined at a magnificent villa overlooking the Tuscan countryside as guests of friends of the Weissmans, joined a "Sweet 16" party at an Italian dance club by invitation of the owner of an exquisite European hotel, challenged some Swiss friends to a game of tennis in Zermatt, and participated in a special presentation at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, planned exclusively for the Weissman group.
a
graduate of The University of Pennsylvania, is a fourth year Ph.D. student
in Clinical Psychology pursuing a career in adolescent psychology. Adam spent
two Postgraduate years conducting research for The Treatment Research Institute
at Penn. As an undergraduate, Adam spent the spring semester of his junior
year studying in France, perfecting his command of the French Language and
taking courses in Art History and French Literature. In addition, Adam had
the unique experience of being the only American student recruited to play
college basketball in The French Nationals, making his way to the finals in
Strasbourg. Adam has spent school vacations working for Habitat for Humanity,
where he built low cost housing, taught poor, inner city children and worked
and lived in a homeless shelter counseling adults as well as children. In
addition, he has volunteered at a local "Y" with special needs children, served
as a music therapist in nursing homes, and conducted psychological research
targeting adolescents with depression. In addition to his extensive community
involvement, Adam, a tri-varsity athlete in high school, co-founded an a cappella
group at Penn. He is a natural born leader and serves as a role model to the
teens he personally escorts on our U.S., European, and Hawaiian Tours.
a gifted artist, is the Writing Arts Coordinator for The Ella Baker School,
a progressive alternative school in NYC. She has created and implemented her
own multi-media arts and writing program and has produced Benefit Concerts
combining the emerging talents of her students with that of professional artists,
including a celebration commemorating 10 years freedom from apartheid in South
Africa. Ilana graduated with her B.A. and M.S. from Sarah Lawrence College.
As a writer, photographer, filmmaker, musician and collage artist, she serves on the Board of Directors
of W.E.R.I.S.E., a woman's arts organization, curates art shows, and facilitated
collage workshops at Barnard College and the A.I.R Gallery in Soho. During
her "spare" time, she taught Confirmation/Jewish History Classes at The Community
Synagogue in Rye. Ilana studied at Julliard, in the pre-college program, where
she played the French Horn and performed in concerts at Carnegie Hall and
Lincoln Center. Ilana brings creativity, warmth and compassion to her work
with children of all ages. Welcome to our “Weissman Family”! We invite you to join us and share our love of travel! For the past thirty-three years, we have been the ONLY tour with every program personally escorted by the owners - Eugene, Ronee, Adam and Ilana Weissman, staying in all first class and deluxe hotels, resorts and National Park lodges. Thus, we offer the most well-supervised, secure, worry-free program in the student travel industry.
Our team of young, dedicated, professional, college grads, all trained in CPR + First Aid, work with us, beginning with the intensive training sessions, personally led by the Weissman Family, focusing on the safety, as well as the physical and emotional well-being of our teens. On tour, the excitement continues as our staff enthusiastically commits to giving each teen a once in a lifetime experience!
It is a comfort to both parents and travelers to know that Eugene, Ronee, Ilana, or Adam will actually travel on the tours. Parents are always welcome to contact us directly while on tour, or to call our Long Island office where Sharon and Stu are ready to answer any and all questions that you may have. We are in touch with them on a daily basis and we can always be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our 2008 program will continue to focus on three unique itineraries, enabling us to maintain the highest standards and to devote our attention to each and every teen that travels with us. Whether we are surfing, snorkeling or scuba diving in beautiful Hawaii; horseback riding into Bryce Canyon, visiting the Hearst Castle, cruising to Mexico, or as an audience member on “American Idol” on the US/Western Canadian Tour; or even taking a romantic moonlight Gondola ride on the Grand Canal of Venice, dancing at International Dance Clubs, or experiencing London Theatre at its best in Europe; "The Weissman Experience" is what dreams are made of.
Since we are always available to speak with you personally, please give us a call with any questions that you may have regarding our program. Until then, enjoy our brochure and DVD, and please join us in 2008 for an experience of a lifetime!
With our warmest regards,
Eugene, Ronee, Adam & Ilana
